Meta Platforms is planning to sell nearly $2 billion in data center assets to help fund its next phase of AI development, marking a shift from its usual self-funded infrastructure strategy.



In a quarterly filing, the company said it approved a plan in June to reclassify $2.04 billion of data center assets as held for sale.
